preparation

To most (if not all) this is the most basic of questions but i'm a "noob" What do I use to prepare a surface for sticking trim onto? e.g. Door/vent trim, sill guards etc. I assume it some sort of degreaser solution?

I've just bought a W-reg Arosa 16v Sport to convert to an "Endurance Road Rally" (ERR!) car - there's only so much you can do to "tune" the cars, which have to be non-turbo saloon cars with engines under 1400cc (diesel under 1900cc). Lots of people use 106 rallyes, AX GTs, Metro GTi's, Corsa...
