I know what you mean, i'm personally still a bit unsure as have heard horror stories of error codes popping up - Guess you need to make sure it's done by a reputable tuner who knows how to map the car and set everything up to prevent that....

Plus the other thing that concerns me is the possibility of failing an MOT or causing problems in the future if the rules change and they can prove the car should have a DPF on it??

if you have the existing dpf bored out and still attached, how exactly will they know its not on? half the mot places I know wont even understand what a dpf is for starters, and in terms of smoke, yes my CR smokes more frequently than my PD did with its dpf, but when the thing was regen'ing on the motorway i could literally black out the rest of the road behind me with a massive dump of soot, so its swings and roundabouts really

Does that make the same difference as a complete replacement pipe (is the DPF delete pipe the same diameter bore etc)?

That's true about the MOT places but i just get scared they are all going to cotton on to it and start failing cars that are supposed to have them? What about the smoke test and emissions levels? Are they not affected?

I do really like the idea of it, especially if it gives improved MPG and more power!

What sort of basic increases with the DPF removal have you noticed or have you had other things done too?

Thanks for your help!

tbh in some places the dpf will have a wider bore, but most de-dpf tuners say use a milltek, but youve gotta think of their mark-up on it. Mines done by 5hark performance, who bored it out instead of using the milltek, but CC and Revo etc would like you to use the down-pipe (note Revo dont do a PD btw, just CR).

There are several ppl on here with their dpf's off that have past smoke tests and mot's etc, there is a large thread on here regarding DPF deletes where its been discussed.

MPG will increase as the car is no longer using energy to burn off crap, also its a more free flow system so if you sit at 70 before and after should see improvement. However the stage 2 does invite you to blast it quite a lot so it will take some willpower to see gains there.

Bhp is 20+ increase over stage 1, so about 220+, figures up to 230/40 have been reported but it varies like everything.

Not much else you need to do with the PD, unless your talking handling, (personally i think the brakes are fine). if you notice stuttering downlow in the revs you might wanna do a EGR delete, again some threads on here, but 5hark says they can map out this problem anyway.
