I think the baffles in my back box have gone, leading to a odd tone upon deceleration so I'm looking at replacing the back box.

I have no real objections to another factory fit box but looking at other options I have seen a Millteck box at my local VAG indi but I'm also wondering about a local SS exhaust fabricator. is there a particular reason for the shape and system design of the factory exhaust, with the box sat sideways? I also have a Powerflow place not so far away.

would getting a universal box cause issues in flow rate and any associated back pressure, issues for the turbo for example? my thinking may be utter rubbish but no such thing as a stupid question right?

I have the same issue with mine.

I have been told that the golf gti exhaust is also an option.
