Hello all

I recently bought in a 1,2 TSI 5f Leon SC and I have done a remap using the Alientech Kess v2 system with now around 128HP recorded .

However I was wondering will there be anymore performance upgrades IE performance engine oil and dry cones makes a difference alongside with the ECU remap.

I knew that dry intake will be the best but that would void the originality of the car

Would like to some advise about this situation and thanks in advance

I had my 1.2 TSI Polo remapped to 130bhp and 174 lb /ft, I also had an after market air filter. Looked into other performance upgrades but they were pointless. Without going for a bigger turbo there's little gains to be had after a remap on this engine.

Mind telling me where did you map yours?

I got mine up to 125-128 but my tuner said he wouldn't want to go over that as it may put stress on engine components.

Btw which air filter do u have?

Would love the 1.4 for sure but I'm 20 and the insurance is terrible for me to get the 1.4. I mean the car itself isn't a problem but the feeling of being charged 2000+ for insurance is horrible lol

Btw I saw your car on your profile picture, great combo man

Didn't your mods increase insurance anyway?

Can't mention the remap company, forum rules, but they were a well-known tuning company.

My Polo was a bloody quick thing I'll be honest with you. It was also lowered on Eibach springs.

I had a K&N air filter in my Polo. I have a Cupra 280 now with a Pipercross filter.

Got them notice but still nowhere near the FR 1.4

Think the problem is the FR means performance to insurance company, meaning more sportier and more desirable for car thief Perhaps?

That's what I've been told either
So after a remap a tualy there's nothing I much to go

Not really, I'd personally leave it as is until your insurance is down and you can upgrade. There's little point paying more money for very small gains (which you'll not be able to notice).

There is nothing you can do for the same price as a remap to get good gains. Remapping is pound for pound the best performance modification. Everything else like exhausts, induction kits etc. will only offer you a little bit of extra performance.

That is why I went for the 2.0 TSI after the 1.2 TSI. There is no replacement for displacement.

Personally, I say enjoy your remapped 1.2 TSI. It is a light engine that pulls as well as a 1.4 TSI once remapped.
