Evening all, my mum has a 61 1.2tsi copa and recently she said its been making a rattle/drilling noise on idle with her foot on the brake, as soon as she lets go it stops, I had a quick look and it sounded like it was comming from what I believe is a fuel pipe on the left hand side, I played with that and it stopped.... Iv also read that this sound can also be caused by a stretch led timing chain..

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Lewis

adjacent to the coolant bottle, there is a box section with a pipe running through it, there should be a cheap piece of expanded foam in there to stop the pipe vibrating, perhaps this has dislodged.
a lot of owners removed it, thinking it was packing, no, just a quick and cheap repair at the factory

The easiest fix I found was just to put a piece of pipe insulation on the fuel line.
