i have the offer to substitue my car which is 1994 1.3 with carb. engine code AAV with a 1998 1.0 mpi , i know the 1.3 engine is stronger , but how are those 1.0 beezas ? is there any other diff other than the engine ? i know the facelift looks cool , but i like my car alot , especially the mods i did in it . will i be able to put my suspension in the new one ? i think they r the same.
any clue ?

By stronger do you mean in terms of how much u can hammer it without it breaking? If so i would agree the newer engines have aluminium parts and then tend to take less punishment than the steel ones which i beleive the old 1.3's are.

But you would really have to drive the nuts off your motor on a daily basis to get to this point.

no i mean 'powerful' , and thanks for the info about the durability , i already changed lot of things in my engine , all pistons for example, and refinishing of the block and cylinder head .

the 1.0 mpi is faster than the 1.3 AAV carby ?

Yeah I`d keep the 1.3. I had heaps of polos, which are the earlier incarnation of thos engines and I broke lots of 1L and 1.1 engines and had the indistructable 1.3 for years.
