I suspected a misfire a few days ago as it seems a little rough on idle and shakes the car gently. The check engine light came on a few days prior but is now flashing at a constant rate and the car seems to have lost power and accelerates really slowly. First thing I did was check the engine oil level and coolant level (were fine). I thought that the power loss may be down to the engine only running on 3 cyl, so I ran the engine and unplugged the electrical connectors on the injectors one by one looking and listening forr the engine to shake and revs to drop except for the off cyl so I knew which cyl was off but this affected all of them in the same way. I am still yet to test the coilpacks, sparks and compression. Has anyone else had this problem with the 16v? I am unsure if this is common for the ibizas as it's already had a new throttle body, which was supposedly a common fault.
If anyone can share any info on what it could be that would be great.
