1.4 TDI vs 1.6 TDI?

Hey!

I'm seriously thinking about buying a Seat Ibiza mk5, but i find the reviews regarding the engines quite bad. I know (from this forum) that the 1.2 TSI is great, but that engine is rare/expensive in Denmark (i'm buying the car used).

If some of you have experiences with one - or both - of the motors i would be glad if you would elaborate the pros/cons of the motors.

I have a 2011 1.6TDI, I love it as an engine. Above 1500 it pulls, pretty good on fuel too. To my knowledge the 1.6 is more powerful but I know the newer ones have changed.

I drove the 1.6tdi engine in a VW Golf after I was in a crash, then engine is amazing always has power and very economical

I had a 2011 1.6tdi sport, cracking little car reasonably fast and averaged 57 mpg over 62000 miles

No one with a 1.4 TDI? I thought it was the most common model

The 1.4 is dreadful, the 1.6 feels like a rocket propelled grenade in comparison. If you drive with any enthusiasm at all do not touch the 1.4.

Everyone will tell you that the engine is ****, practically noone likes the 1,4.

Also its running a Delphi ECU, which cant be chipped
