What the best thing to do with the exhaust on a 1.4 tsi (pre facelift ) I know performance gains will be minimal, so just looking for a better sound really. Can't see a. Lot of options apart from custom made, some nice chrome tail pipes would be good

Cut out the centre box or do away with the back box.

Sounds good, think I will just remove the centre box.

do you know if the tail pipes can be changed or would back box need to be changed as well

Had my mid silencer removed, took about half hour and £40 :p
Makes it a lot deeper sound and some nice little farts at high revs
Check my RR

Right spoke to John Ashley Exhausts and have a couple of options, remove mid resonated box, or delete backbox straight to tail pipes

whats people thoughts, don't want anything to loud!

I'm thinking of doing the same too.. getting rid of the centre box. I'm after a little rumble to the sound so hoping this does it. The tips on my back box are also pretty black and don't look really good, so was thinking of buying some trims maybe...

I went for a backbox delete in the end and left the centre box in for now, will post some pictures up later, sounds is much improved and not to loud, the back box was tiny any way

Just looking into removing the silencer on my 1.2tsi FR.. Has anyone got any videos of a 1.2 with silencer removed ro hear the sound it gives out?
Also, is it worth keeping the exhaust i already have (assuming it will still make a good enough sound)?

I have seen a video on here somewhere of a 1.2 tsi Ibiza with mid silencer removed and had pretty much the same effect. It's just a cheapper way to get a nicer sound, try search YouTube as well there's a few videos on there

Just found a few now! Sounds much better! Gonna go ahead with that I think.
