1.5TSI Engine Light / P0441 code / start-stop system error

Having some issues on my 2020 ST 1.5 TSI FR.

Have seen some similar threads but no real answers.

Started getting stop start error 2 weeks ago. Then 2 days later the engine management light came on - not noticeable change in performance though.

Plugged the code reader in and it shows P0441 “EVAP system incorrect purge flow”.

So I’ve had a good check of the vacuum lines and nothing obvious. Removed the electrical conndctor from N80 valve and made sure it’s clean then refitted it. Fuel cap has been removed, cleaned and refitted to ensure its sealing properly too.

With the start/stop fault showing I’ve also checked the positive battery lead and nothing unusual there.

I’ve read a few people have replaced the N80 valve (complete assembly with pipes) with no fix. My gut says it’s perhaps the charcoal canister as I think I was guilty of not stopping at the first click last time I refuelled.

Does anyone know exactly where the charcoal canister is located on this model? Any other tips or suggestions?

This might not be the answer you need but I think it's good to keep in mind that start/stop faults most of the time start to occur with weak batteries, followed by a lot of faults from other control units.

The start stop error is simply because of the engine fault, in this case. The system is disabled to avoid any potential for the engine to fail to restart.
