hi guys not long till i change my car over and looking at the ibiza with the 1.6 diesel. i have been reading that some people have had issues with this engine...regen or something, excuse but im not techie minded. my commute to work is only 3 miles there and 3 back. will this be a problem ? i only prefer diesel due to the shove factor:D and i currently have a diesel power tuning box in my leon:p. thanks in advance for any helpful info. cheers

My commute is about the same distance.
Recently i've been trying to tame my right foot and be a bit more economical in my driving, changing up below 2000rpm etc, but have notice an increase in the frequency of regen warning lights, even with changing to using shell v-power diesel, compared to when i drove the car harder (holding gears til 3500rpm). (i say increase, in reality, i had the first one in ages the other day).

my philosophy on it is, on a shorter run, drive it a bit harder so the engine gets warm enough to clear the dpf on it's own, and the money it costs in doing so, is balanced by the money and time saved by not having to drive around for 20-30 minutes at high revs to do a regen run

If our cold weather continues, long term that may well be a problem [ I have been lucky compared with some of the chaps on this site and DPF issues [ were you not given a seperate SEAT leaflet on DPF and driving styles etc.??] you should have been advised before purchase I think. ..............
