Hi, my 13 plate 1.6 TDI Leon broke down this morning - no power and loud "siren" sound from turbo area matching the revs.

Garage has confirmed my fears and diagnosed as turbo failure, car has around 37k on it so not very high mileage.
I bought the car earlier this year with around 33k on the clock, car has had one owner before and full service history so had all the signs that it had been looked after.

Question is have I just been unlucky or is it likely that this may be a re-occuring problem with the car. I've found a bit about 1.6 tdi turbo failure but not loads..

I've opted to fit a reconditioned unit and am in 2 minds whether to sell the car once fixed and get something else or to trust that once the new turbo is fitted it will be good for a while to come.
If its happened once is it likely to happen again?

Any advice/ opinions welcome.

Cheers
