Have this as a hire car so not that fussed but i must say im not impressed at all by it!!!

I went to visit my parents and came accross 3 mjor issues.

1. When the fuel light came on the left headlamp cut out!!!!!!

2. The radio reception is awful, i can't even get radio 1 on it properly!

3. The MPG is terrible for a diesel! i cruised up the m40 for 90 miles at a casual 60mph and only just managed 54mpg! I know its more than the boca does but only about 6 more!!! considering the performance differences and petrol being cheaper its very suprising!!!

Is this just a lemon from a lifetime of abuse being a courtesy car or is it a standard 1.6 tdi thing?

never heard of that headlight problem lol my fuel light came on yesterday and i had lights on and it was fine, and my radio reception seems fine also ? but i do agree the mpg is low for a tdi :/

Headlight is probably a gremlin somewhere, but the radio reception is 100% an issue compared to my boca, as I can normally tune into kerrang where I live no problem, but in the Sportrider its a fuzzy mess!

I just think its funny that I get more MPG in a Jaguar 3.0 twin turbo than I do in this thing!

I had problems with mine when I first bought it. Done 10k now and it hasn't had the dpf light on or anything for months. I'm now getting 48mpg for my daily town driving and got 53mpg driving 230 miles to Surrey yesterday at 75mph that's alot better than I was getting

Going up the M40? A lot of that is uphill. I go that way to work, always get lower mpg on my way there than I do coming back (downhill). The radio sounds about right I don't think the newer Ibizas have great reception I noticed the same in a 2011 Copa I borrowed last year. As for the headlight going out, sounds like electric problems it definitely shouldn't have done that!

That mpg is not typical in my experience. On a motorway doing about 75 mph I would expect to get 55 mpg. If I sit at 60, 70+ is possible.
As for the other problems, well it is a Seat!

I agree with Biker,I regularly get 60 + ,less obviously if I cane it about, but driven normally would heve a job dropping it below 58-62

Done the drive back again today from Surrey to Leeds. I was going for it really today not been mpg friendly at all. Still got 52.6mpg not bad IMO but agreed its not what they say it should be

All that way and you still managed 52.6? You weren't going for it hard enough, Sheffield to Leeds being reasonably sensible gets me 45-47.
oh yeah, i love my fuel bill =o/

If you remember I was the one with the worst mpg when I kicked the thread up about it.

I'm actually happy with it now. Not proud of it but at some points I was doing 100mph and the instant mpg was saying in the 40s! I hated the drive tbh but it gave the car a good run as its still been broke in.

My daily driving is a mile or two here and a few miles there and I'm getting around 48mpg
