Hi guys, initial thoughts were maf which was replaced, lambda readouts look within limits? the boost actual and specified is what throws me off

car is a pre facelift mk1 cupra with the auq 180 engine

spec is :

silicone tip (new)
stage 1 map
decat and 3inch dp
full exhaust system
710n d.v (good condition)
n75e (new)
pipercross induction kit (new)
ko3s turbo
new genuine maf

as far as i know,no boost leaks present
boost spikes to 20psi and holds boost if in e.g. 6th gear under load
otherwise it will spike to 20 then tail off and hold around 9 as the revs climb

has a code on engine block for 17704 error in mapped coolant system which i have a fresh thermostat + CTS sat here waiting to go in (unrelated??)

i have the money to get this sorted but would rather avoid the stealers and get a more confirmed diagnosis.

here are logs

thanks for your time

any help would be greatly appreciated

although im not very clued up on vagcom diagnostics the specified boost and actual boost differ. I would say boost leak. are you certain there are no boost leaks at all?

148 g/s is standard for a 1.8t auq ive pulled 152 g/s in my unmapped auq

and yeah actual vers requested boost is WAY off points to boost leak!

a mapped car im sure peaks at 20psi and holds 16/18?

9 is very low

thanks for the replys guy,im going to replace every hose and fit a front mount to renew all the intercooler pipework, just hoping its not a faulty wastegate or something along those lines,it literally holds 8psi at redline :/

would the g/s reading be influenced by the lack of boost?
dmoe try logging blocks 003 031 032 114 and 115
start in 2nd or 3rd at 2500rpm and go full throttle to redline

interesting you say about the stock g/s readings bud, indicated im running wayyyyy under power then

bloody cars, do regular car garages hae smoke testing equipment or am i best off making my own boost leak tester?

Just run a log my mass airflow peeked at 204g/s is that what I should expect from stage 1?

the g/s is what the air is travelling past the MAF, you divide your g/s by 0.8 i think which gives your a rough bhp its no exact but give you a good idea

before going to a garage just give all your hoses a good once over, but first get the engine temp situation sorted i wouldnt expect it to make much difference but itll eliminate that

the thermostat is a pig to get at and its worth shifting the alternator first to give much more room!

what car do you have? a cupra? or an R as stated 204gs roughly 250bhp

thanks azza,i will be doing as much of the work as i possibly can,the last turbo car i owned was a starlet gt turbo so everything was a lot more basic and mechanically controlled rather than all this new technology lol, learning fast though.
looks like a got a busy weekend ahead.

would a n249 delete be beneficial to minimise hoses that could split in the future?

You can download vcds lite for free, then buy a usb obd2 lead off ebay (i paid £13) then hey presto. If you want to fully register vcds you can for $99.
