1.8TSI oil pressure fault

Hi everyone,
So last week I got a red warning light on my dashboard which said “Oil Pressure Stop, see owners manual”. Had the RAC out and they seemed to think it was a sensor as the car itself didn’t sound like it had an oil pressure fault.
I got the sensor replaced at a local garage which they said the light had gone off, to which it had when I had picked it up, as soon as I got it home again, the red warning light popped up again. I called back the garage immediately and they said they couldn’t do anymore, and it had to go to a specialist.
I took it to a specialist for diagnostics to which they noticed my water pump was leaking and they tested the oil pressure itself and told me when it starts on cold, the oil pressure is fine, but once it has heated up after the engine has been running for a bit, it does then in fact have a problem with the oil pressure itself.
has anyone had any problems with this or any similar experience of what this could be? And would the water pump have leaked on something to do with the oil and corroded something causing the oil pressure problem? Any ideas are welcome thank you.

Is the pressure low?
If so some blockages can cause it, low oil level or a worn oil pump.
Also some engines adjust the oil pressure as the engine warms up.
I'm presuming this happens when the engine idles as you mentioned the light came on at home.
I'd suspect the oil pump, the strainer in the sump or the pressure adjuster if you have one.

Hi, thank you for your reply. My car is currently at an RAC approved repairer as that’s where the RAC breakdown towed it to. They have replaced the 3 oil pressure sensors, replaced the oil pump, cleaned some sludge from the sump and replaced the oil and oil filter, checked the old oil for metal shavings to which there was none too, however it is still flagging up with oil pressure fault. When speaking to them today they advised the fault only occurs when the oil temperature reaches 70 degrees Celsius, and they needed more time to see what else it could be as they’re currently scratching their heads with it. Do you know of anything else that could cause it other than what you stated above please? Thank you.
