My wife was looking to get one of these towards the end of the year, but according to the SEAT site it's now a 1.6 tdi??

Anyone know anything about this new engine, it's still showing 105bhp......

There are a couple of 1.9 Tdi's left. We've just ordered one which the dealer just outside Birmingham had in stock. Seat have stoped making the Mk5 with the 1.9 now though.

Chris at A1 Auto's also managed to find another one.

As far as I'm aware the 1.6 common rail will produce the same figures as the 1.9 but it'll be in the lower tax bracket due to better emmissions. Seat have halted production of this engine at the moment however for some reason, pushing some orders back to November. Thats why we decided to plump for the trusty 1.9PD engined version, it's proven and available (just).

So they've halted production of the new engine with no reason......doesn't sound good??

I believe that this engine will be a real winner in the Ibiza as i reckon that it will be quieter and smoother with a little more torque:happy:.

It remains to be seen if it will be as tunable as the 1.9TDI PD though:think:.

I have ordered a 1.6 CR for my mrs, after talking with my dealer on Friday its still confirmed that it will be arriving in 2 weeks. It cost £200 than the 1.9.

I personally can't wait for this car as I currently drive a VW with one of the latest CR engines in it and its brilliantly refined.

£200 more? i am pretty sure I got told it was £300 more....

I am nearly due the car, should be here in a couple fo weeks, but am awaiting confirmation from A1 Motors on Monday.....

Yes definately £200 more . Just checked my paperwork. Although I did'nt have the official list price at the time as it was a heavily negotiated deal.
