How do I make my 1.9tdi louder without removing cat and dpf? Take out back box and put a pipe in? Help please?

Oh yes! Mufflerectomy. Had it on all of my TDI's. Feels better, sounds better and is cheaper than a proper backbox!

This girl has no idea, so in need of alot of help lol so I just need to remove back box and put a pipe in? Without touching the cat and dpf? Lol

lol, just go to an exhaust place ask them to cut the back box out and replace with a bit of straigh pipe. Cost me less than £100 each time :) no need to touch dpf or cat.

Great thank you :D I know a few guys that work in garages and stuff which is handy lol just needed a straight answer on here lol! Thanks again :)

These tractors are loud enough, remove the sound deadening/bonnet lining if you like the sound of farm vehicles.

Ouch:p someone doesn't appreciate the meaty sound of a diesel in the morning! Gotta say though, having had a 1.9tdi in a mk5 golf, I'm not sure why you would want it louder? It isn't a shrinking violet at the best of times.

Lol I've had 2 diesels, they're good for what I wanted, a bit of poke and good mpg, but I wouldn't waste money modding them or trying to make it louder lol

Ive got a 2.0tdi 170, and i removed the back box completely and just have 2.5" pipe into a pair of new shiney tips. sounds nice IMO just a subtle rumble when the right foot gets buried

Running my pd170 turbo back straight through and it's very loud. Great sound on full boot and nice purr when cruising! Love it!

Me and the daughter love a noisy car... I might get one of my friends to take the back box off and see what it sounds like, then I can make my mind up whether to do it or not lol! My neighbours don't like me as it is with most my friends having noisy cars lol
