130 sport or fr 130, whats the difference?

Hey there guys, Im new to the forum and looking to buy a tdi 130 ibiza, ive been hunting around and these are the 2 which ive found that tick the boxs, what advantages do the earlier (pre face lift) FR's have over the sport? They appear to have honeycomb grills and not a lot more?

Is there a difference in the engines or gearbox's. Are the fr's anymore tuneable?

interior is more sporty, alloys, suspension 'i think' also not sure but believe the sport to have a longer ratio box??

basically get the FR badges everywhere. tbf you get the sport your more likely to say 'i want an fr' get the fr you say you want the cupra.

The FR is better spec and the gear ratios are stightly different. The FR's rev higher than the Sports. The FR's have better suspension setup and everything aswell I think. Basically if you can afford an FR - get one. They are slightly different on insurance (FR being higher).

I think the engines are the same. Both 130 bhp anyway. Well, the pre facelift Sports are anyway.

i was told by the stealers the suspension was exactly the same??? maybe worng tho. you get a volt mtr and oil temp gauge in a sport where as in the fr or cupra you dont

Maybe they are - dunno if the bushes are different or not.

And you only get volt meter and oil temp gauge on <03 Sports. Mine is a 53 plate and doesn't have these.

ohhhh i see no the bushes are the same to as i looked into this when i got my cupra and polly wishbone bushes, but must admit the bumpers on he fr are nice

Just to clarify - the PD130 Sports pre-date the FR's - your post seems to suggest you think it's the other way around.

My bad mate, I typed them the wrong way round but am aware dont worry, ive done my best to do as much reasearch pre posting as I know how annoying these posts are when they keep cropping up but had a flick through the pages and couldnt find anything.

Did you search on the Corsa forums for the differences mate? Pages of other forums wont find the pages I found using the search button

I think with the search button you either CAN use or CANT use. I personally hate the search button and cannot get it to work at all!

I was trying to be nice about it, and make a joke but hey, im not the idiot that cant search for something that has been covered to death.

Yes it will be asked again, and if I spot it, I will reply with the same thing, its threads like this that clutter this place up costing more and inturn meaning the admin/mods have to clean up more often or find more money from sponsers to pay for the extra room.

Well at the end of the day mate its a forum and its here to have questions asked on it, otherwise there'd be no point in it even exsisting. I dont see why you feel the need to make a massive deal out of the fact that I couldnt return as many results as you have by searching. However some of us I guess dont have as much time spend keyboard warrioring on forums i guess

You weren't trying to be nice, you were being smug and that only exacerbates the problem.

It's people like you posting first and thinking second that cause the problem to be worse than it is.
