Yeah JOrdan it doesnt work though. thats a different 7spd DSG. I think if you youtube you will find a VW tiguan that has a 7spd DSG as well that has LC but it isnt the same as our Cupra ones.

I tried once and it didnt do much for me.

Well i've just taught my mums boyfriend how to do launch control on his A5 3.0TDI with the DSG7 box.

One of you try this.

Put it in sport, press traction control off (dont hold) until the traction control light lights up and stays on.

Press the brake with left foot, plant accelerator with right then let the brake off.

His A5 just absolutely flew off the line with no messing. Someone brave try it, may work.

First of all, i'm not good in speaking english but I will try.
This way doesn't work on stock ibiza's dsg7. I did several times yesterday but nothing. Braking and accelerating at the same time, the engine goes to 1500rpm then 1200rpm and leaving the brake doesn't start immediately. So there is a significant delay, which makes my FR slower than other small cars. I think I should work on my sensibility but have you got any suggestion to do a sprint? Yesterday I tried against a lupo gti (0-100kmh in 8.3, 1.6 125hp) and the old yaris ts (0-100kmh in 9,0, 1.5 105hp). So I overtaked the ts only reaching 80kmh, while the lupo gti seems faster than mine on short distance. But on paper my 3door FR should do 0-100 in 7,6/7.7 so I shouldnt have problems agaist the other two car. How can I be faster?

It won't work cos the hill hold will just stop it and cause problems.

The 7speed DSG in the Ibiza is not the same as the other VAG 7 speed boxes, it is a lot smaller and compact and uses a dry clutch. if you get it to launch (not programed into the ECU thou) it would just slip on the clutch or spit the diff all over the road............

with the bigger engines(the 3 litre for example) the 7 speed is a different box all together as mentioned. Its a wet clutch system again with a much higher tq rating than the 6spd wet clutch and a stupid about higher than the 7 spd dry. search wiki for dsg and it will tell ya the difference

I dont normally get annoyed at repeating my self but the DQ200 box we have does not have Launch control. Simple as. It seems to have been deemed too dangerous for these "Sealed for life"( 10,15 years+ that vw expect these boxes to last?) DSG's in the ibiza cupra ect.:banghead:

Now I have heard of this leaver that you can push down a certain distance and, with a little practice, if you get it right the car will set off with minimal wheelspin and not bog down increasing your 0-60/traffic light F1 race times :) Its the pedal to the right of the brake.

/end thread?

If you have no problem f*cking your clutches, you can get a very good launch but "taking bites" on the gas while you press the brake pedal just to the point that it prevents the car from moving (so you won't activate hill hold [B)] ). I don't recommend doing it a lot of times but it works. To describe a little better you are with esp off, pressing the brake pedal as I told you, you hit the gas pedal (not all the way) so you see the car revving, then instantly release the gas pedal, then do the same thing again, at some point the engine will rev high enough to 2500-3000rpm so you release the brakes, slam the gas and off you go. (I can spin all third gear that way :p , but it works wonders on red lights).

I did it, but nothing. Mine doesn't overtake 1500rpm
Is there any way to disable hill hold?

Just tried this tonight in the Leon (same gearbox) - we have no HHC

It just will f*ck your clutch. Don't do this.
