It will be interesting to see what the punishment for this will be. A few years back a guy was caught doing about 140mph on his bike and he got a jail sentance!

And yet in Germany we were (perfectly safely) overtaken while doing 160mph.

The difference being other drivers on the Autobahn expect to see vehicles travelling at that sort of speed and drive accordingly.
It is not an everyday occurrence on the A11 and as such is likely to catch other road users out!

Of course, not condoning that speed in the UK.

and... are you suggesting this speed is ok?
its not even safe on the autobahn, - which are in fact not openly unrestricted only in particular places and even then this doesn't mean speed isn't dangerous.
154 on public roads, is moronic, absolutely.
no amount of trying to condone this will make anyone with half a sense of sensibility with think otherwise.

a driving ban and fine would be getting off lightly imo.

No excuse for that speed on a British road, the guy is gonna do some porridge for sure. The reactions of the average driver are bad enough when at the legal speed limit, never mind over twice. Could have ****ed up several families' lives, not to mention his own
