Evening Gents,

My other half is looking for some wheels for his Mk3 Cupra. He currently has some 17" wheels, and has had the Brembo brakes fitted.

Do you know what 16 inch wheels will fit over the brembos? Ideally without using massive spacers, or costing a fortune.

Many thanks

J

The OZ alloys as fitted to the Cupra R will, but they have to be the seat ones as they are machined at the rear iirc to clear the calipers.

Compmotive do some very nice ones like the MO, plus a fair choice on offsets etc.

To quote Badger5

Minimum wheel diameter requirement is 7"x16" ET35, 4x100 & 38mm clearance between wheel hub and spoke rear

I know the Cupra R ones will fit over, but the original Cupra ones wont.

I want something that wont cost a daft amount as we're currently buying a house.

15mm spacers does the trick

aslong as the wheel still sits on the locating hub with the spacer on i would have thought it will be fine. i jus dont like the sound of non-centric and all the weight is on four bolts.

i have oz superleggeras in 16" with a 5mm spacer to clear the brembos

they look really close :D looks good though :D :3rd:
is safe to have spacers on front when running high power to em?

how much do the wheels stick from arches?

they are pretty close :D ill get you a pic if you wanna see ;) a rizla packet will get stuck lol dont get any noise from the spacers but there's a slight wobble :( new wheels coming soon tho with adaptors so will eliminate that. not had any trouble from them tho :D and theyt sit perfectly in the arch IMO :D

my rota grids are 8x16 et10 and dont clear the brembos so watch out some wheels will some wont its got to be et35 or less or run 15mm spacers as i had to when i needed too also if you use spacers make sure there is enough thread holding the wheel on have seen too many incidents of this
