seems a good price, my price for the same but red was £16250 and then had the full aero kit which took it to £18200 . has it done any milage or just the usual delivery 10 to 20 miles?

I think they said up to 20 miles or thereabouts..

Sounds like a very good price to me, bearing in mind the TDI has a higher list price than the TFSI.

I have just paid £16,150 for a brand new FR TFSI in Red with 18" alloys, Bluetooth and Ipod. Paid extra for the mudflaps though.......

Also, you are getting metallic paint which is an extra £250 on top of the solid colours. I personally wouldn't go for black.......I think the Mk2 Leon has to have a colour which shows off the contrasting black trim, especially on the FR at the front. For me, black would have been a nightmare to keep clean!

Each to their own though and I think you have a very good deal on offer there.........go for it!

Could be a good time to buy this week as it is month end and also the end of a quarter for the dealers so they will probably be needing sales........

Have the black magic - love it when its clean, nightmare to keep clean though!

Dont know what id go for again though, I find silver boring, red common/my last car was red, yellow - not for me thank you. So what does that leave Candy White? Possibly would have went for that..

Mmmm, I beg to differ about red being common. Down to personal preference about colour obviously but I just think red looks superb on the new leon and I for one have not seen many red ones about......

Have to agree that black is probably more common than red.........

Sometimes wish Seat were a bit more imaginative with the colours for the top spec cars............where is ruby red, or even a decent blue for the fr? I don't like Brisa Blue at all..........

^^ OOps obviously own red cars :p I just meant to say im sick of red, my last car was red and was common to me..! :)

I agree though, a nice blue would be good - like the blue you get on the RS4

Best time to buy a new car is before the end of the financial year as they tend to do better discounts and stuff (in order to reach their targets).

I got my TDi FR in March for about £16995, black magic, 18", bluetooth car kit....

I would have got a lot more off, but as I was trading in my 1yr old Leon Sport (with 18k on the clock) I was making sure I got a good trade value rather than huge discount.

£16k is about right for June.....

On another note, I just saw my old car on sale for £12,995........ considering I got a trade-in value of £12k, I think I did pretty well out of it!
(especially since there were loads of minor issues with the car!)

Tones,

How do you find the FR compared to the sport? Was it the diesel sport you had?

Is the FR ride much harder than the sport?

I have a sport and wish I had an FR but sometimes I think I am just being silly about it and the difference is so minor and not worth bothering about.

I brought my TDi Sport at the end of 2005, so basically the model was about 4 months old (?!?)...... frankly I had nothing but grief with it....... (maybe cos it was one of the first batches off the line?!?)

a) ride was very hard, gf hated it
b) road noise was annoying
c) dashboard rattled all over the place
d) after about 10k I started getting a ticking noise in the engine after working it hard (ie driving for about an hour in hot weather) - possibly something to do with the turbo?!?

.... on top of all that
e) driver door mirror electrics broke and wouldn't open (which was repaired under warranty)
f) some runt scratched my car front to back on driver side
g) un-even wear on the tires (inside of tyres were completely worn down and outside were fine) - tracking or camber was off I think.
h) unbelievable smoke coming out of exhaust when accelerating hard.
i) hands-free bluetooth kept crashing - ie wouldn't exit the call on the MFD and radio, had to reset system by taking keys out of ignition

Took the car into service in March and got speaking to a salesman..... he was trying to flog me a new leon.
In the end after playing all the showrooms in London against each other, I got a decent deal for a trade-in and also a great deal for my FR.

As soon as I got into the car I could feel the difference.
- Ride and handling was SOOO much better (maybe cos i had 18" rather than 17")
- less road noise
- no rattling dash
- more refined drive
- gf likes the car! (big plus!)
- no issues so far with the hands-free kit

Only thing I miss from the old car is the reverse parking sensors!!
(Yes go ahead, call me a wuss.... but once you get a car with them, you'll wonder how you parked before without them!)

Frankly if you're having issues with your Sport and can afford the difference in price, then get the FR!
