1999 Engine To Fit 1997 ?

Will a 1999 Arosa engine drop strate in to a 1997 car ?
as you all no my gear box is broke but, i have the chance to by a gear box for £100 or the full engine for £200 was just wondering if it will fit ?

fit yes, but whether it's the same engine code or not may cause problems with the wiring

Do you need a new engine? I wouldn't waste my money unless your current engine was fubar.

yeah that as well as if you change the enigne the clocks will read a different milage to the actual engine ( fair enough if it was a far lower milage engine but as the others said , unless your engine is fubar'd i wouldnt bother

think the engine is on its way out as a only get about 30mpg and when a press the Go peddel sumtimes there is nouthink there

not likely the engine, I'll wager it's either the coolant sensor, or lambda sensor
