2.0 TDI CR 140 problems?

Hi all
First post and just looking for some advice
I've got a 2011 Ibiza 2.0 TDI FR which has done 57k

Few things I've noticed of recent which I'm just wandering if anyone else has had:

When the engine is cold (first drive of the day) under very lite acceleration, at around 1500 rpm I'm getting a sort of 'surging' of the power as if it isn't firing on all cylinders. Sort of like a judder as if the power comes on, then drops, then comes back on again. Once I'm up to around 2000 rpm and ready change gear it's gone and as I said this is only happening when cold at low revs.

Secondly I've noticed a rattling noise which increases in the frequency (so more rattles per few seconds if that makes sense) when RPM increases. This occurs when at lower RPM, say 1500 up to around 2000 RPM.

She's regularly serviced but is due one in approx. 1500 miles.

Any feedback would be much appreciated

Quick few questions
1. How do you drive it?? Lot of town or motorway driving??
2. Has it has the emissions fix applied?? Lots of comments of the rattling after this has been done??
3. Light acceleration, something like <10% throttle would you say??

Hi mate

No the car hasn't yet had the emissions fix (been meaning to get it done just haven't had the time)

And maybe slightly more than 10% but as I said it is when cold with the 'surging'

The cold surging could be the egr becoming a little sticky, a lot of about town driving recently??

Sorry forgot to answer that question. I actually do up to 1600 miles a month. I do 2, 100 mile motorway trips per week with mixed driving in between.

Thanks for the info on the EGR valve. I'll get it to my mechanic and see what he thinks
