Hi guys, I was just wondering what the next steps are to gain more performance from my car. It's a 2005 2.0 tdi 140 that has been remapped to 180bhp. I'm thinking of getting a turbo back fitted, but what else is there? And what kind of figures could possibly get? Cheers

Hybrid turbo and Some people change to panel filter eg green cotton and some say standard filter is better but my opinion is if its remapped a panel filter will do it good.

Downpipe + Exhaust (Turbo Back)
Panel Filter or CAI
EGR Delete
Hybrid Turbo (Around 240bhp) or Big Turbo (270-300bhp)
Injectors (if doing Big Turbo)
Clutch and Flywheel
Brakes (Cupra 345mm kit)
Engine Mounts

The sky is the limit, Darkside Developments have had this engine at 300+ depends how much you want to throw at it

What is a egr delete and a cai.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve, Opens and throws crap back into the engine, its an emissions thin diesels have, You can remove it by swapping it for a pipe and having it mapped out

Cold Air Intake, basically an induction kit

dont buy the 2.0 TDI THS downpipe, we did and when trying to fit the other day, its rubbish, flange on the end is too small and will prob come off, the place holders that hold it in place are welded on wrong too.

this is brilliant advice guys, im gonna go for the turbo back first, any reccomendations on which to go for? how much am i looking at for the hybrid turbo?

I've got a hybrid (stage 2) that was a replacement and never fitted. As we are not allowed to sell on here bung me a PM if you're interested.

cool man, what supporting mods would i need to have to fit this?

Clutch, exhaust and a map, you might also want to ensure that you've got some decent brakes to stop with. ;)

Fitting some green stuff pads this week, and planning on uprated discs so that would be enough.

Does anyone recommend a particular exhaust make, it's a turbo back I'm looking for. Locally to me I can get a milltek fitted by amd, it's just a bit pricy.

I found the EBC pads poo to be honest I had them on a previous car

Do exhausts really make much more noise on a diesel over standard, like a petrol does?

Never gone the performance diesel route before, finding my supercopa a little quiet.

Yes and no

They can do! Mine was to loud on my PD170

Doesn't that take away the point in getting a remap?

No, because a Hybrids boost characteristics are different, you still need to optimise fueling etc to compensate.
What Im saying is, that you dont necessarily need to max out your performance straight away, if you are on a budget you can get the torque reduced to save your clutch until you have the cash to replace it, then crank up the power afterwards.
