Hi all

I just got hold of Leon 1.4 eco TSI. I moved from a diesel to petrol as I was doing mainly short trips and the car was never warming up. I thought the 1.4 petrol would make better sense. The car does have ACT but even driving it in eco mode and barely pressing the accelerator, I never see the 2 cylinder mode active status. The eco sign appears but that's all. Am I doing something wrong to have the 2 cylinder not work?

Any help would be appreciated

That's little eco sign means it's in 2 cylinder mode. Cycle your centre display onto consumption then it'll also say 2 cylinder mode

Brilliant, I'll have a go tomorrow. Thanks for that. Super impressed with it so far, glad to have made the switch to petrol. Does ACT still work if the car is in sport mode?

It works in normal so doesn't have to be in eco mode for it to work. I don't really use sport as the only difference I have noticed a the change in light colour.

It work's in all modes. Just feather the throttle and it'll shut down the 2 cylinders - learn how to get the best out of the 2 cylinder mode and you'll see some great mpg figures.

I have the Irish spec 1.4 TSI without ACT but there is a difference in throttle response in sport mode definitely. When you have your foot to the floor in normal, you don't get full acceleration until you press down hard enough to activate the kickdown switch. You'll feel a slight click in the pedal and the car will pull slightly harder. It also revs slower in eco and normal mode. It's not a massive difference but it is there. I use the individual profile that give me sport engine and normal steering because I hate the heavy steering during slow traffic.
