Got a couple of options for car meddling coming up soon. Both company cars (not mine) coming off lease with an option to buy.

First is an Ibiza 2.0 TDI FR facelift, other is an A1 S Line with the same engine, etc.

I've decided to make a derv monster hatch - which car I pick doesn't matter so much at this stage, but I'd like to know if anybody has tried to liven up an Ibiza with this motor? I'd be aiming for 220 BHP and 300 lbs of torque. I'm guessing the clutch would need upgrading and I've had a few VAG gearboxes go so that would worry me? Colour wise, track grey with white mirror caps and OZ wheels, A1 would be black everyhing.

I'd be willing to spend £3k pon map and clutch, if the end result was fast, reliable with little maintaining.

Should I just lease a Leon TDI 184 instead? I've got a 2.0 TDI anyway... I've been told not to mod that though by my bedroom assistant which is a bit annoying

Thanks

I think the 140 CR diesel caps out about 200bhp unless you get into DPF deleting etc which raises future MOT concerns now.

Still, would be a fun little beast at 200 bhp and plenty of torque.

I would hope that 3k would more than cover the map and hardware to do this, probably with some left over to accomplish the much needed chassis and brake upgrades this platform really needs.

I've seen a Ibiza with 206bhp had full exhaust with panel filter dpf OEM style removal and egr delete cost the guy about 1800 total

Yep - P.Torque are quoting 200+ bhp with a remap and dpf delete ( and yes it still passes mot )

Will at P.Torque says the 2.0 TDi clutch is more robust than the old 1.9 clutch and will handle the torque.

I have the 2.0 143 model and it's currently on a revo map to 188bhp and 290lbs/ft (not had it on the rollers to confirm yet). Think these figures are fairly accurate as it beats clio 200s, nurburgring corsa vxrs and sits tight on civic type rs.

Car fairly shifts with the stage 1 map and will average 45-50 mpg with a heavy right foot and the highest I've had was 65mpg on a 2 hour long motorway run.

To get more power than this I believe you need an updated intercooler, turbo back exhaust with dpf delete and stage 2 mapping... Which should take it to about 200bhp and 320 lbs/ft. No idea how much the standard clutch or that will take before breaking though.

Think my 0-60 is about 6.8s and I know the 1/4 mile time is 15.1s (with my driving anyway)

I've seen a 206bhp ibiza and that was an older pd130 engine, he had a hybrid turbo, egr delete and a few other bits and bobs so it's more than possible with the pd140

My mate has an A3 with the CR140.

His is a proven 201hp 328lb/ft off just a revo map and dpf delete.

How is his audi without the dpf mate, does the car smoke a lot? I've heard from some people that there isn't any smoke whereas others have said its like a constant black cloud following the car...

Im in two minds whether or not to get it done and need some reassurance before taking the leap  haha
