2007 Leon Cupra p2279 fault code

Hello,

I have a 2007 Leon Cupra which is showing the following fault:

p2279 code- intake air system leak, lower limit exceeded.

The symptoms are that the car runs rough at idle and the rpm rises to 1200-1300 in neutral periodically before settling down. The strange thing is that this only happens when the car has been driven for a few mins and is warm.

I had a similar issue on another Cupra which turned out to be the pcv valve. I replaced the valve but no joy.

the car is standard apart from a Milltek non res cat back and remap.

any info would be much appreciated as it is a pain in the backside.

Is your dip stick in properly? And your oil cap? You’ve definitely got a air leak so you’d need to look at it while the car is running you might even be able to hear it sucking in air while running.

Thanks for the reply. It’s a strange one. It only seems to happen once the car is up to temperature. I’ve checked all the obvious weak points. Next stop the mechanic…
