So it seems I have a bit of gasoline in cylinder, the mechanic told me it's a busted injector. My "Problem" is that he says he will work only with original parts and that non oem parts have a very bad quality (which sounds a bit off to me). From what I understand original injectors are 4-5 times the price. So my questions for you good ppl are
1) Do you need to change all 4 or is it ok to change only one?
2) Are there any good alternatives since it seems 4 injectors will cost me about 1k euros. (Say Bosch?)

Hi buddy the mechanic is write in a way some things using oem is preferred due oem parts being correct and backed by a parts and labour warranty etc.
your mech is speaking from experience however he should take your opinion on board too about how expensive they are.
I have replaced 1 or 2 injectors many times however I have recommend all 4 only because of the other two order injectors may fail later down the line and you’d end up paying the same labour cost again.
But can I recommend that you ask him to removed all 4 injectors and have a specialist refurb then at a lesser cost? That way not only will it be cheaper but they’ll still remain oem spec injectors. The only down side with that is the time it takes posting injectors and waiting for them to be sent back might take 5 days.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Several mechanics told me TSI injectors can't be refurbed, so I went with OEMs. We'll see how it goes, this is an old car. Every now and then there seems to be something with it.

Oh no sorry about that I wasn’t aware the tsi injectors couldn’t be refurbed.
I know what you mean tho about things going wrong due to the cars being older. Hopefully the cars good to you for a long time after this and you keep it as long as poss and can enjoy it.
