2012 Ibiza FR - images leaked ahead of launch at Geneva

Officially it will be revealed tomorrow morning at the Geneva motor show, and more details will be available in regards to spec. But in the meantime here are the pics.

It no great secret they showed the facelift weeks ago, and obviously some of the press such as Autoblog were privy to press shots early. But the SEAT media outlet was rather vacant of these images.

Whats up with the poverty spec steering wheel, other photos had a nicer one. I'm guessing all FR's are not equal then?? Less powerful models get the nasty steering wheel?

That is the Style Interior not FR, FR has the FR badged steering wheel and silver inserts on the steering wheel and around the stereo. Will be interested to see final spec and prices, looked at the Spanish, German and French versions as the new Ibiza is already up.

We will be ordering an ST FR later on in the year, shame the 2 litre TDi is not available for the ST other engine I would of like to of seen is the the 1.4 122 available or better still the new 1.4 138 with cylinder deactivation just about to go in the A1. Then I assume Golf/A3 and next gen Leon but no word on Polo/Ibiza

It is just auto lights/wipers, auto dimming rear view mirror and electrically folding mirrors from what I saw on the German site.

"Consisting of: electrically folding exterior mirrors, automatically dimming interior mirror, automatic light-on, rain sensor, daytime running lights"

I'll wait and see if they have a better 1.4 TSI engine (210hp like Cupra R210)) so I can swap mine, and get rid of all the problems.

There was the rumor of the 1.6 TSi to replace the 1.4 twincharger with around 190Bhp, not seen or heard anything recently The MK7 GTi is still having a tweaked 2 litre EA888 giving around 225Bhp, the 1.6 TSi was for the Polo R and I would assume Cupra R. VW is launching the Polo GT with the new 1.4 138 lump.

But the RS focus is pointless lol for the price difference between ti and the ST you can make the ST way way faster and the ST engine compartment is much better suited

I loved my ST but then I was given it for free.

Yeah, but I mean like you have the st and rs old shape still, even tho the new shape focus is out.
Don't have to change the top spec models to the new shape, as they look better old shape imo

Does anyone know if they'll be called FR and FR+ for the higher power cars?
Will all Ibiza FR's get the same equipment? like with the Leon, FR gets less kit and power than the FR+
