I currently have a 2020 cupra. The only thing that I want to change on the car is really the exhaust note. The car has done 2k miles since I got it in march and I must say the exhaust has opened up alot and it does burble when in sport and cupra mode. What I really want is the car to bang on the upshifts and sound alot more aggressive. Can a res delete be done has anyone done one on a 2019-2020 model with the quieter exhaust and can it be reversed down the line? Thanks

I've done the res delete on mine, due to the gpf it still wont pop and bang as much as the Cupra 300 did, but there's defiantly a big difference. I should also note that I haven't put the VAG resonator delete kit on, I literally just had mine took off.

Hi mate you can buy a mid box delete pipe that bolts in place of your mid box however you would have to cut the factory exhaust to clamps the new pipe in. Not a problem and will make the exhaust note a bit louder.

Thanks mate! What did you do to it exactly did you just get a bit of straight pipe to replace to replace the resonator?

Yea mate pretty much a pipe without a box onit. With 2 clamps either side I welded mine in tho but you really don’t need to. There’s few videos on YouTube with the full process type in VW
mid box delete.

Yes, literally that, take your car to any good car garage and its easy, cost me around 70quid i think and took an hour.. had it done about a year ago now and still love the sound.

I got mine done at PowerFlow in St Albans. It’s subtle enough for normal driving, but makes a lovely noise, crackles and bangs when given some welly.

£120 all in, and that is clamped into place so that I can put the res back in when I want. Can’t fault it!

I recently dod a res delete on my my19 gpf cupra. I had a workshop make me me the replacement part from 65mm pipe and elbow (tbh I didn’t find 65mm elbow so I used 78mm stainless elbox with 2 78 to 65mm reductions on both sides).
They welded it in place and I also installed the exhaust flap to bypass the rear box. Res delete didn’t make that much difference but the flap did the job.
Not really neat but did the job. Heres a pic of work in progress.
