2024 Seat Ateca 1.5 TSI DSG Experience Lux model
Has anyone experienced a crunch/grinding when reversing?
Mine only has 2000 miles on the clock, only had it 6 months.
Dashcam footage below to show the noise. Slowly reversing out the drive, on the brakes slightly waiting for a gap. Have a post on the left side often a car on right. Crunch noise is always preceded by a long beep. Car stops and grinding only stops when selecting park or neutral. The issue has only happened when reversing out my drive, not happened anywhere else. Selecting reverse again and its ok.
I took it back to the dealer who found no errors in the logs despite this happening 3 times and have seen/heard the videos, suggested that it might be the manoeuvre braking so suggested disabling it which I did and report back if it still happened. Two days later it returned, I checked that manoeuvre braking was still disabled which it was. Sounds more like the gearbox is dropping out of reverse. Car is going back in two weeks.... Worried that it might be causing more damage but covered by the warranty at the moment.
