2)If not will this affect the long term value for selling

I was told you need not use SEAT as long as the garage that carries out the work is VAT registered and are using, either genuine parts or EU approved parts. I will be servicing the car at work as we are VW authorised due to fleet and are VAT registered plus I get a 10% discount on parts hehehehehehehehhe

I use an independant VAG specialist. FUll service, genuine parts ~ £83 :) lot better than the other prices around in my area.

Liverpool seat are pretty good at price matching. I have found David Cook Motors (Seat) and Chester Seat to be better value

I think the only good thing about having your car serviced at a dealer is once the warranty has run out if some thing major goes wrong some times the dealers will try and get a good will gesture of the manufactures,

my wifes megane cc is just over 4 years old now and has always been serviced by renault (we owned for 2 years) a few weeks ago the all the seals had to be replaced as it leaked in 3 places it had been like this for some time but we did not have the money to have them replaced got a good will gesture of 40% that saved us a few hundred pounds dont think this would have been done if the car had been serviced else were.

just another point took my daughters car to nationalwide autocentre (halfords) for a quote on a cam belt for a 14cc peugeot 206 was told need replacing every 5 years at £265.00, then went to the main peugeot dealer and told 85k or 8 years price wait for it £160 all in so its best to shop around.

Decided to do it at the stealers at hobbins of preston for £150. However my brake fluid and air con service is due next month. Not fussed too much bout the air con but concerned about the brake fluid change.
Does the brake service have to be done by a VAG specialist or can any garage do it because its just bleeding the fluid and replacing it so no VAG part needed?
