Hi guys, searched through threads with very different answers. I got my 280 In June as an ex demo model which come with most optional extras. It come with Bridgestone RE050A tyres on 19" wheels. I've done 6500 miles and a few laps of the Nurburgring and drove some awesome driving roads in Europe on an epic road trip. I wasn't that impressed by the tyres in the English summer but they performed better on the continent but the weather was much nicer and roads were as well. Since the weather has went down hill as the typical English weather does, the car is becoming more unstable, wheel spinning on gentle pull offs in damp/moist conditions and sliding on simple slow bends/corners. Tyres have 3mm tread left but really want to change them for something that isn't going to cause my death.

Recommendations welcome!

Also a bit of a negative I've found and not sure if it's the same for other people, but when I'm having a bit cupra mode and brake heavy the back end becomes very light and feels very twitchy almost as if it was a RWD. Wonder if this is just the way the brake bias is set up or what not?

Any help would be great

Thanks

David

Michelin pilot ss seem to be the tyre of choice for cupra unless you want to super sticky then go for the cups.

Uniroyal Rainsport 3s I have just bought for my car. About £80 a tyre. I had them on my Golf r32 awesome tyres.

I had the same tyres on mine, they are ok when warmed up, but in cold weather they are fairly useless. I put a pair of nokian wrd4 on the front for the winter, wet and cold weather grip is much better but they make the front a bit vague. I'm going for the mpss when the weather changes.

With so much power going to the front wheels good fresh tyres are critical for fun.

I was gonna ask the same question on here. Mine have done nearly 12000 and on about 2mm on the Bridgestone which I agree are absolute poo. I've been looking between eagle f1 asy 2's or Michelin super sport.

Michelin most expensive but everyone raves about them and considering how much better the car could be if they don't spin up I think I will give them a go.

Cheapest for them was amazon at 125 a tyre.

Thanks guys :) much appreciated.

Where do people get their tyres from? cheapest I've seen the mpss is about £150. Are they any good in the wet?

Have you had wheel alignment checked if the rear is nervous on heavy braking?
Mine were bit off from the factory, toe in were +00.23 and +00.27 and once adjusted to +00.08 on both sides the car goes much nicer on straight line and is planted on heavy braking.
