i just got my 3" Audi tt Dp fitted yesterday and its a slightly Different shape to the Leon ones (i think) so sits closer to the steering rack and everytime engine is under a bit of stress it whacks the rack hard and vibrates the whole car (Steering wheel mostly) While boosting, obviously dp is pushing hard against the rack making a loud bass noise also! i can feel it more when steering. I have put a bit of rubber between them for now (under the heatshield) which has helped slightly but still is bad
Do you think new engine mounts would help? (engine moves alot when clutch is released). Or i could try and make a dent in the dp around the rack so it doesnt touch?

Was told it would fit a LCR! so i bought it, it does fit but looks like i need new mounts as the engine has alot of movement in it causing the dp to touch steering rack. i would say at idle the dp is an inch 1/2 away from the steering rack. Could do with a pic of a blueflame or similar dp fitted.

New mounts would most likely solve it. My OEM downpipe was knocking when my gearbox top-mount wore out!

I'd also go for the new mounts, if the engine is able to use up an inch and a half of clearance then I'd almost start thinking one of the mounts is broken, or at least the rubber is FUBAR.

Yea thanks. think i will go for the dogbone mount first as its the cheapest and it did move alot.

I've got a spare OEM gearbox mount. I'll bring it back to lboro with me for you to try if you want.

Got powerflex bushes fitted yesterday which has helped alot, with no knocking no wheel hop but still getting a little vibration from the bulkhead on boost which is the dp flange (2mm from it). Gonna have to cut the flanges off and weld it together!
