This is a continuation of a recent theme (20-60). What do your new and old shape FR TDI (standard preferably) Leons do for 30-70 in 3rd. Just looking at the speedo will do, so I can compare with some of other cars ive driven, i.e Toledo TDI sport 150 did 7.1, average of two ways.

30-70 3rd gear

Well I timed 1 up, coz I dont think my misses would approve of such malarky!

As for the tank, cant remember, maybe 3quarters full? It was on a damp day, but I dont think that made too much difference as I wasnt using 2nd gear.

Does your FR make 197 bhp standard? thats amazing and answers another question I was about to post- how much BHP are people getting on their standard Mk 2 FR's. Cheers for that.

I had a little experiment this evening, and it seems 30mph in 3rd is less than 2000rpm for me, so it's verging on being off-boost. Boost comes on OK, but I'd say that 30 to 40mph takes as long as 40 to 60mph does.... :D

6.4 seems quite a good time glynn, considering a type r does it in 6.2 and us derv owners will get turbo lag and the type r will have instant power

I was suprised too but my old motor has 123k under its wheels and has been serviced and loved like you would not believe. I am going to get my car rolling road tested as I am sure its got more than 190 hp
I had a bit of a race with a mate last night who knocks about in htis 820 vitesse turbo (200hp). I could not believe just how easy I could of over taken him as we floored it from 40mph.

Them type r civics are not that quick really scotty. B4 the leon I had a passat 130 remapped to 165, had a race off some lights with a type r and was p***ing myself laughing as it could not get in front of me. And yes he was going for it we were side by side I had the window down and I know what thay sound like when the second cam comes in at 5500rpm. I have also had 3 corolla t sports and all were a match for the type r.
6.4 seconds is in 3rd, 5.9 is through the gears
A civic is 6.2 through the gears and at 30mph in second would be approx 4000rpm which means they are not on the second cam then.
Believe clio 182 cup is 5.8 through gears 30 to 70.
Had a crack with a 172 up to a ton and kept up with it.

for example theres a kid round my way, think hes 20 and his dad gave him his toyota corolla t sport, i think its about a 190bhp, its the 6 speed one as i looked it all up, his names called sam necho and got his own plate N3CHO, when i had my first leon all mapped and everything i was out with struggers1 and he was in his leon, we knew this necho kid would want a go, so we hit the first link road and i planted my foot at 20mph and so did necho, i put a length into him then he slighlty crept in, not much but a tiny bit, and mine was 147 bhp, strugers1 also managed to get past him, then the next link road, when he hit treble figures tutut he was gone, but im not saying mines quicker just something i post which happened once

At last I got a go in a Leon FR Mk2 yesterday at the local Seat Dealer On my own! So I was able to answer my own question. The car had 1/4 fuel left. Boy do these things flt. I got 30-70 in 6 seconds first go and then 6.2-obviously thats only using the speedo, so is probabpy 29-68 or something.

50-70 was about 3? Is that right? Seems a whole heap quicker than my mates standard 150 sport. Does this seem correct, 170 owners? The car had 4500 miles on it so I guess it will get a fair bit quicker!

If only a diesel with lots of torque was easier to get off the line!

True fella - Really annoying I get beat everytime off the line even with a good start feathering the clutch and accelerator. Crail is a rubbish strip though, would love to get a go at POD sometime in the future ;)
