So i had my car at the garage 8 months ago due to a dead turbo. Got the turbo replaced with other recommended parts to prolong the life of the turbo. Put 4 litres of 5w-30 fully synthetic oil in my 2.0tdi BKD Altea engine only later to find out that 5w-40 is the recommended oil.
Anyways 1k miles later the car failed to start and indicated that oil levels were low, which was true as they were basically non-existant when i checked. Took it back to the same garage, put it on the ramp and we found large oil deposits near the driverside, said there was an oil leak. Was told to come back the next day for the full results and when i did i was told there was no leak and that the reason all my oil ran out so quickly was because of driving high speeds on the motorway. Ive never heard of such a thing before but im not mechanically inclined. The max i do on a motorway is 75 most of the time im going 70.
Sounds like bs to me but you never know.
