I've done a search, and found various threads, but not the answer(s) I am looking for.
I bought a Seat Ibiza Freerider 1.2L in March of this year, and it was registered in April 2008. It came with service history with the previous owners, but had missed a service, and now one is overdue. (as seen below). No problems with the car at all, but lesson learned to check the Service History in more detail before making a purchase (I actually misread one of the stamps as being serviced at 49k miles, not needing a service at 49k miles).
This is the first car I have owned, and the first service I will be having, so need a little guidance.
It was serviced at at the following intervals:
- 27/01/2009 - 10k miles (Seat)
- 15 /07/2009 - 13k miles (Seat)
- 22/12/2010 - 39k miles(Indy) - Spark Plugs fitted, Air Filter Replaced.
Its MOT history is spot on, and never had a fail for anything major (just with previous owner forgetting to check some lights by looks of it!)
My Service Counter says due in 2k miles, but the car would have done 56k miles at that point.
So a service is overdue, and I am looking to get this in to a Seat Dealer in the next couple of weeks.
My questions are:
- Is it best to give the car a "Seat It's Fixed! Major Service". Give the car a good look/check over? Is the "Major Service" good value?
- Is there anything "extra" I should be having done/looking out for, or would a Major Service cover most things?
My theory is, the more I spend now (to get things back on track) the less it should cost me in the future.
Any pointers to help out?
