8x16 ET35 on the front?

After searching around for a bit, I see most people seem to advise no bigger than 7.5J on the front. My new wheels are going to be 8x16 with an ET35, will they cause me any problems on the front?

should fit. will be close, and if you have coilies the spring platform might be close to the tyres inner face.

Mine are 8x17 ET28 and ran 235-40 tyres, before arch mods. would rub as I was lowered

Alloys are fitted with 195/40 tyres and I'm only running lowering springs (previous owner so I'd guess a lowering of 35-40mm or thereabouts)

Cheers for the replies, hopefully have a trial fit by the end of the weekend and all will go well. Will post up pics when I do.:)

Fingers crossed.

Little update:

Its a snug fit behind the front alloys but they are on and have had a good run with no problems. :D The front only have a bit of lip sitting just slightly out from the arch, but I'm not running silly low that I'll have many issues. Rears are sitting lovely at the minute. 9J would probably suit better at the rear but I'm happy with it as is. Plus now I should be able to get passengers in the back compared to before, running Cupra alloys spaced 25mm.. the arches just sat on the alloys and there was no chance of it rolling.

So all in all, it looks so much better than I imagined. Very aggressive looking now compared to before. Car should be along at Inters at the end of the month with the Scottish lads so keep an eye out if anyone comes along.;)

Maybe stick a 10mm spacer on the rear to get a bit of poke? Good to hear u had no problems :)
