Hi, i've just bought a 2000 leon 1.8 20vt sport. On the drive home the ABS and TCS lights came on together. I pulled over, stopped the engine and restarted and the lights went off and then came back on later.
Anybody got any ideas?

Check your brake fluid reservior, its in the top left hand corner of engine
If not that then check that the handbrake is properly off

Check if you brake lights work as it could be the brake pedal switch.

If they are ok, it could be the ABS sensor. I would suggest trying VAG-COM to diagnose it but the last time I used it for this same problem, nothing came up.

I THINK, ABS and TCS both use this to sense loss of traction, I would say it would be a good place to start.

Thanks for the help.
Spoke to the previous owner earlier and he told me to try cleaning the connections to the fuses sitting on the battery and it seems to have worked, lights have gone (including the handbrake light which started flashing)

I had this before but was also coupled with a brake fluid loss
Brake fluid was topped up, light went away and no more fluid loss???
Well confused, but all still working
