My ABS and TCS light stay on , and upon scanning I get an error regarding the hydraulic pump for the ABS (V-64) or something like that.
My mechanic says it's the ECU for the ABS pump which is faulty and recommends replacing it for a refurbished one , which is 5 times cheaper than a new one.
Could the fault be simpler ? any other culprits that could cause this CEL? What to check?
He says it can't be the sensors themselves , as I've mentioned folks here replacing/cleaning them and all was back to normal .
Thanks for any advice :)

Hello mate, i had the same issue as you coming up to my last MOT... My ABS pumps ECU was dead... I bought one off a member on here and the problem didnt go away, the ABS and TCS lights were still on...

I was stumped!

I done a bit of searching and found out that the three 30 Amp fuses above the battery may have something to do with it... The terminals usually become corroded, so they look like they're working, but actually not...

All i did was took all three out and cleaned where you insert them with a bit of sand paper and put three new fuses in... And worked!

Should have really checked this before buying and fitting another ABS unit really! Lol. But one of those things... I saw the fuse wasnt "blown" so assumed it worked.

Thanks Jamie .
Actually I just had 2 of my 3 fuses burnt , and I had them both done as external by-pass fuses . The third one is still in there , and seemes intact .
Wondering what to do now...

May be worth replacing ABS unit if you can find one cheap enough?

As said, i replaced mine with a members off here, was around £50 iirc so hardly breaking the bank, and if it doesnt work you can always sell it on again...

I'd say take the third fuse out, if its the one on the right hand side, as this is the fuse to check, pop a new one in there and see what happens...
