Hi all

When I started up the other day I noticed that the ABS and traction control lights are on and the handbrake light is flashing, I did jump start the wife’s car just before I noticed this, and wasn’t sure if I've blown something or the cold weather and salty/dirty roads have affected my sensors.

Just seems strange they all started to appear at the same time.

Hope you all had a good xmas and looking forwards to dry cleanish roads again.

Pretty easy to do but your best plugging the car into a fault code reader first, this will tell you if it's definatly an ABS sensor and will also tell you which one is faulty.

Ok cool

I have VAG-com so will give that a try 1st, is it just the snow and ice that kill the sensor

Just went to car, tried to open it with the key fob and the alarm went off, would not stop until I disconnected the battery, battery seems dead, only replaced it 3 weeks ago.

could this be anything todo the my main abs, traction control problem.

Did the car crank over fine? My dads old car used to display a few lights but turned out the battery was a little weak and it had sensed a drop in voltage etc
Could be a charging problem if the battery was/ is new

Car wont event turn over batt so dead, when I reconnected the battery I had just the interior light flashing like hazards but very dim, also lots of clicking noises.

was a new battery 3 weeks ago, been ok so far, not used the car that much over the last week though, only a few time.

will try and jump it later

Whack a new battery or a freshly charged (may be completely gone) one on and see how you go, abs etc could well be on due to low power

Will try a jump and then will leave battery on charge overnight, could trying to jump start the wifes dead car damaged the battery,

Hers ended up having a frozen water pump and shredding the cam belt, likely a fiat safe engine, but still dead in the garage until I replace the bet.

Managed to get it jumped, Battery showing 14.4 when car running and 12.4 when not running,

got the following fault codes

18057 p1649 -35-00 -f
(missing message from ABS controller )

and
Not seen this come up before

address 08 auto HVAC
Component 1M-Climatronic X0605
no fault found

I noticed while ago I had this before I changed the MAF

Address 03: ABS Brakes
Controller: 1C0 907 379 K
Component: ASR FRONT MK60 0103
Coding: 0013313
Shop #: WSC 00001
1 Fault Found:
01314 - Engine Control Module
013 - Check DTC Memory - Intermittent

I cleared this and not returned.

I still have no traction control or ABS, traction control light gone off but still have ABS on and flashing handbrake light, fluid level looks ok

Also when I changed the battery, the replacement I was given was quite a bit smaller, voltage still seems ok though

Taken both the front wheels off but nothing visible with damaged wires, only ABS light on now with flashing hand brake light with 3 beeps,
Will try vag-com again but not picking up abs sensor
Is it still worth replacing them anyway

Still no abs or traction control

I get the feeling the ABS module is dead, cant access address 3 on vag-com to check sensors, checked the fuses on top of battery and in fuse box and all seem ok.

If this is gone, whats my options, anyone had this problem before

Think it must be the abs module, it's constantly drawing power from the battery even when car if off, taken fuse out now, will look at getting the abs ecu replaced, can't think off anything else
