abs warning light

abs warning light is coming on intermittantly diagnostics computer at my local garage shows fault code 00285 front abs speed sensors dont know which side though , anyone know how i would find out which side is broken dont want to replace both as there expensive

Nope youd have to physically check it as far as i know, but i think they are bout 30 quid each

i would take both wheels of m8 and look at the wiring as i had this trouble and found that the wireing and come un-clipped and rubbed on the wheel.
your local garage must not have a very good diagnostic computer as it should tell u the side which is faulty

decent diagnostics will tell you which one is faulty

hello, just to say i had a the same prob about six months ago, with the abs light being on, it was intermittent, as if there was a break in the wiring somewhere.i didnt use the stealers just a local garage they plugged a tech 2 machine or something similiar in and it flagged up the offside front, was an easy fix if i remember rightly it was about thirty pounds from my seat main dealer for the new sensor, good luck and hope you get it sorted!

As Mork said... it should tell you which side. Also with it being intermittant it could be wiring OR the sensor itself. Again VAG.com will tell you which kind of fault its coming up with (i.e. short-to-ground or mechanical malfunction etc).

fitted today had to use grips to rock it out got it from euro car parts £6.98 thought that was a real bargain working fine now thanks for help
