Just been to check out our new 1.4 TSI SE today, waiting for it to be ready and number plate to go on, so started thinking about what accessories we'll add.
Can anyone suggest a accessories store that sells Leon parts at a reasonable price?

Thanks

ebay :) always worth a look. also i bought that silly chrome strip that goes on the boot for about half the price from hidson's or hudson's seat think they sponsor this site too. other good trick is to get the part number off the seat online catalogue and google it.

IMHO it's worth changing the naff 12V plastic flap for the proper lighter element. I don't smoke but it looks much better. And the ashtray - with lid - serves as useful storage for USB sticks, SD cards, coins or whatever. :)

The little mods ive done...that go a long way:

Heko wind deflectors front and back...you either love or loathe them (dirt cheap on ebay, about £25-£30).
Cupra gear knob...so much more stylish and comfortable, althought slightly fiddly to install (£25).
Stubby aerial (the stock aerial is unsightly). Bought a VW sharon stubby aerial on ebay that looks completely flush with the base of the aerial (£7).

Loads more little mods you can do to make it "your" car

What's the performance of it like? Is the signal as good as the OE whip style one?

I use DAB and have a rural commute with a couple of signal blind spots with no/poor signal... I wouldn't want to degrade the signal any further although I agree it looks to be a worthwhile upgrade to the visual appearance. :)

If you rely and use radio alot then I would not recommend it, as reception rurally will suffer. I would keep the stock aerial. I bought it as I do not use the radio that often, and it works ok when near the city/built up area.

I also have the armrest...without doubt this should have been stock on all mk2 leons. Whenever I get into another leon/fr/cupra, the first thing I think of is "this needs an armrest to make it complete."

Is it like the Golf armrest though, in that it kinda gets in the way of the handbrake? That used to annoy me a little even though it makes for more comfy long journeys. I suppose in these days of
hill hold control, the handbrake obstruction would annoy me less though. Hmm.

Thanks for the info re: stubby aerial. Think I'll stick with the standard one for now. :)

Ive never even thought about the handbrake let alone worry if it is inhibited by the armrest. In other words, the armrest is functional without removing the handbrakes ease of access. Its like sitting in an armchair now

[B)] This is mine installed, and as you can see it does not impede the use of the handbrake.

Had front and rear flaps fitted, boot protective film and inner sill protectors. dealer did a good deal 15% off and free fitting. Better than the current deals on Seat website.

Arm rest is next month when i've been paid again.

That arm rest looks lovely, really transforms the interior, looks complete. Is that the geunine item from seat? Only reason i ask is that my interior is identical to yours and have seen a few online but been dubious about the colour etc.. Yours matches perfectly!

yeah i mean i know everyone says how nice they are and that and ive been in a rocco with one and yeh its nice but not really neccessary and justifying the £100-ness, i mean do i have arthritus in my left arm? no and tbh my left is mostly holding the wheel and changing gear (its a diesel after all) cos my right hand is busy assisting me to get lung cancer.

Hmmm.. maybe i should buy and armrest and stop smoking, then the armrest would pay for itself :)

you should mate, smoking is vile hahah:sick:!! (I used to smoke, but I've quit for 3 years now)

I don't like arm rests, they get in the way in my opinion. I test drove a civic diesel before I got my FR and I just felt too cramped, couldnt move me left arm and couldnt change gear without looking like a numpty because the arm rest was in the way!

yes yes i know, i need to quit definetly soon. and you might have a point of it being in the way, perhaps i could only put it down on the motorway or summat, or maybe just not get one and think about it on the Mk3 leon which i will no doubt get, maybe in flappy paddle form it would be good

possibly mate, I have long arms so having an arm rest woul things more awkward for me!!

I hope the MK3 leon doesn't look like the pictures I've seen about.
