ACT factory sensor

just drove home from chickade's and i had a little think about utilising the original external temp sensor for an air charge temp sensor surely if i extend the wire and plumb the sensor (wherever it is )into the inlet tract i would have a factory style act gauge when i choose temp on the digi display

or am i having a blond moment lol

The sensor is on the passenger side mirror. (the litlle black bobble on the bottom) I found this out as i nearly smoothed it!!!

wont this affect the aircon/engine management

ah fair point mate,not sure on engine manegment but aircon could be an issue,although it reads internall not external temps.

yes if u **** wiv the outside temp sensor it will **** ur aircon up, its used to monitors outside temp so it knows how to set the inside or something. plus stops aircon comin on when its really cold

IIRC there was kit done the rounds a while ago , that displayed charge temps on a small LCD panel , regal, courtney spring to mind , il try n dig a link out

i once bought one from some ebay company many moons ago,i will leave the standard temp sensor alone.
i remember working on a focus rs with a act/boost gauge mounted on A post looked very nice.
