Advice on Tuning Chip/Remap 1.6TDI Sport

Hey There,

I have the Ibiza 1.6 TDI sport, 2010 model (MK5).

Sits at 105 BHP and have been really tempted to get a mod chip/re-map.

Just wondering if anyone has experience doing such a thing on this specific model, any feedback on experiences etc.

Could you also list any pro's or con's doing this?

Would really love the extra 30 or so HP.

No one's had a remap yet, the code needed to reprogram the ECU was only released a few days ago.

A few people have used tuning boxes (TMC and another iirc, a search will throw up the names) and report good gains and improved drivability. You'd expect the same result from a remap tbh.

Revo should have an off the shelf stage 1 map out within the month, tchip.dk have UK agents i believe and they've said they have a map ready, still waiting on news from APR and Jabba, i've emailed them this morning to enquire.

Thanks for the reply. Will it reduce the engines lifespan considerably if I start messing with the Horse Power?

Sounding paranoid I know but I've never really modified a car (apart from the ICE)
