I have approx £1k to mod my 2001 leon 1.8T 20V, and have sort advice from a number of mates who have done their share of modding including reading endless threads in this forum. There seems to be 3 schools of thought:

a) Get the car breathing (cat/turbo back exuast, iniduction kit) then a custom remap
b) Get an off the shelf remap (stage 1) then get the car breathing then upgrade to stage 2
c) Coilovers, alloys, struts etc then a or b when aesthetically pleasing!

I am quite happt with the understated look of the cupra, and therefore I am not to fussed about appearences, however insurance permitting!!! I would like to get it up to 200+ bhp and am not the most mechanically minded.

Can anyone advise on the most cost effective way to put a big smile on my face with £1k?

i've got my LCR breathing a bit better before i get it mapped, i changed my filter, DV, TIP and top intercooler hoses. i suppose the same principals apply to the LC. the reason i've done this before the remap is when i've "got da boooooost!" the bosch DV is prone to split, the TIP can collapse in on itself and the top hoses can pop off, also, it all looks nicer too!

Nice pics,

my platsic Bosch DV has already gone once so thats' a must, in terms of an exhaust am I likely to be able to get a turbo back exhuast out the remainder having remapped and opened up the airways or should I focus on firming up the chasis?

Personally i would agree with Rudd.... basic remap and set up the chassis to handle it better.... Leon can be prone to slight wobble at high speeds and cornering.....

Coilovers or FSD and lowering springs, ARB's and S3 upper and lower struts
