Hi everyone, I'm looking for some constructive advice on my action with Seat.
Story is as follows;
First
Bought a 2012 SuperCopa 2.0 tdi DSG, 3 weeks ago, but noticed on the 2nd day that there was a grinding style noise from the front right area. So car was booked in and they said the driveshaft had movement, but needed to compare with another similar car, so could I re-book and bring it back in a few days when the comparison car was in. I did this and they said my driveshaft had 'movement' and so would change it. Car was booked in for a week later (had to wait for courtesy car) but got a call saying driveshaft was ok and must be the TopMount. So this was ordered for the nextday and again had a call today saying it's not the TopMount must be something else, quite possibly something in the gearbox. So now they have sent a Tech report to Seat as they have exhausted what they can do. So they have now had the car since Monday night this week and don't look like getting it back until 'whenever'
Second
Bought a 2010 Bocanegra 2 weeks ago, but noticed it stilled pulled to the left (I did notice the pulling during the test drive and was assured it would be fixed before I took delivery. Yes they all pull to the left, but in the Technical Managers words, it 'Veers' to the left). It went in last week for VW to do the alignment, but no difference was made so they suggested I re-book and they can send it to Audi. So dropped it off Monday night, to be told via phone call on Tuesday that they had fitted my DRL's but not done the alignment with Audi. Got a call Wednesday saying that Audi couldn't find anything wrong with the alignment but agreed it 'veered' alot. So SEAT have booked it in with an independant specialist as they have said it needs 'proper' adjustment, not just a VW Group tinker (lol..!!!). So now i may get my car back Friday or quite possibly next week.
Now what do I do, I have asked for a new tyre to be put on the OSF as they only changed the NSR before I bought it (Surely this should have been an indication to them that there was excessive tyre wear) and for them to fit the DRL's (which do look great). Neither of these items have been paid for yet (£60 tyre and £210 for DRL's), should I refuse to pay and state I want them as compensation or can your suggest a better way forward ?
Both cars are on PCP's and I haven't made the first payments yet.
All I can say in defence of the Seat garage, is that the Technical Manager is really helpful and feel he does genuinly want to get these issue sorted. Do I point the finger at the Sales Manager or Sales Manager ?
Thanks in advance..
