Hey,

I had my car collected by Seat yesterday for a water leak.

The car was returned late with a scratch near the front left fog light.

It wasn't there before they collected it.

I rang Seat today to try and find some answers.

I will find out tomorrow.

How successful am I going to be in order the get the damage repaired?

Cheers

When they collected the car did they check the car and signed a collection note? If they haven't they are amateurs and you should push for a repair. It's their own fault for letting themselves open for abuse. When I had my car collected the dealer check the car over and on their docs writeen no damage. I kept a copy and that's how it should be done. You might have a fight on your hands.

Thanks for the response.

They did check the car and signed.

I'm hoping they just admit to causing damage.

Cheers

Adam

Just a quick update.

I have spoke to Seat to find out what happened when they had the car on Monday.

The woman instantly said "We will repair the damage"

It's will be going in a couple of weeks

That's great news but will see what happens. When you collect the car check it first before signing the docs.

Cheers. I hope they give me a decent courtesy car, don't fancy the Mii due to size. Lol

As they have damaged your car and clearly admit they have, if they offer you a Mii and you need a bigger car, tell them you want a courtesy car to the equivalent size your Leon is. After all you bought a leon cos you needed a car of that size and if they hadn't damaged it you would have a car of that size.
Besides it's hardly a courtesy, at the end of the they damaged YOUR car :)

Had a call from Seat today confirming that the car is going on Monday.

Asked if I could have like for like.

They said they on had a Mii and only had 2 courtesy cars.

How is it possible to only have 2 courtesy cars?

Every time I gave my car to Ford, I had like for like.

Ask them for an alternative loan car. They might only have the 2 courtesy cars but they probably have another one they can lend you. Might be worth checking - especially as it's damage they caused...

I'd second that, but if you still have no joy. I wouldn't piss about I'd simply say, fair enough,as you damaged my car and you admit damaging my car, my request is not unreasonable, but if you don't want to play ball, then I'll simply pass it to my insurance company/or accident management company and they will give me a hire car equivalent to my Leon and claim all the costs back from your group/companies insurance.

Normally at that point they see your serious and giving you the car you want is the far cheaper option.

Always best to be having that conversation with the dealership manager or director, saves you having to repeat yourself several times, as people lower down the Seat food chain often struggle to comput any demand that isn't the everyday normal request :D
