Morning

After a year owning the best car I've ever had I've decided to change. I'm thinking about getting a Megane renaultsport 225, have any of you driven or been in one? Honest opinions from you would be appreciated!

Regards

Mark ;)

I nearly got one of those before I plumped for my Cupra. Doesn't the R26 come with an LSD that the 225 doesn't?

It was nice enough, but the reliability is always an issue and I think they look pretty damn fugly. Still, residuals are poor so a second hand one could save you quite a few £££s

Mate of mine had a lot of electrical trouble with his - typical French car really.

Isn't it a bit of a parallel move from a Cupra?

Couldn't tell you the first bit, not looked into it that deeply, just saw one the other day and fell in love with the meaty looks and twin exhaust out of the bumper. Think they look a lot more modern that the cupra and i just fancy a change!!

here's a plan...
sell me your LCR cheap, and just think of the money you'll save going to a dealer with no part exchange!!

I looked at these before i brought my lcr.

I thought the drive was better in the cupra but still are nice cars, i just could not get round the rear i think it looks ugly.

Take one out and see its all down to what u like, like i said nice cars, but I thought the lcr drove better.

Thanks lee, will do. Just really frustrated - this always happens to me. I looked at a 55 plate at a local garage today at £14999 (out of my range!!). It had anthracite wheels and looked lovely, the wheels on all the ones ive been looking at online are solids 8 spokes - which you struggle to see the brembos on. These anthracite ones really set the car off, i think they come on the trophy model. I've just been on pistonheads and seen a ice blue model with the wheels, 55 plate private at £10950!! Just my luck, haven't even advertised mine yet and bargain like this crops up!!:(

I wonder how these compare to an LCR in terms of straight line speed!

I had a bit of a traffic light GP with one these not too long back. It was neck and neck (up until 60 then we slowed down)!

It was black and it looked nice. Though mine was the nice of the two mind ;)!

They can get the power down slightly better than the lcr but other than that the power is very close.

Ponydust, just the luck mate, :(

My girlfriend ran a Megane for 12 months and was the worst time of her driving life. Renault have a bad customer service and parts and servicing is expensive. The car has problems with water getting into the fuse box which cost her nearly £900. Would not recommend Renault at all.
